And nothing has changed the problem. It only has options for raid settup or repair stripped or raidd set The settup program installs the files and reboots. Now everything is fine until I actually try to use the drive – then I get the same freezing problems I had before.

I have tried with boot sequence: In the bios under “Intergrated peripherials” spelling? I am wondering if I need to update any of these drivers. But after reboot I get and error message that says no hdd or something.
Seems raiv be no way for me to have the single SATA as a primary master Best I can do is have it as a secondary at least it’s not a papper weight From what I’ve read installing a modded bios posted here will fix the problem but it dosen’t work for me: For some reason a format did once work but afterwards whenever i tried using the hard drive I would experience the same freezing anytime from instantly to about 10minutes during use.
I’ve read through both of those threads, and posted in one of them.
If i do a hard cold reboot then the device will be detected again. Only then can I start the windows settup routine.

Abit NF7-S SATA (non raid) freeze

Two questions abou this: I’ve read many posts from people with SATA problems and have tried a lot of things to resolve this including -Various sets of drivers for the sata driver, including most recent drivers issued from abit, and from silicon image. If I leave it for long enough I will eventually get some message about a buffered write failing can’t remember exactlyhowever the computer stays in it’s essentially frozen state.
